Deana Warren and Scott Oxford had been together for years when they got engaged. Soon following, they heard the shocking news that Scott had leukemia. As Scott began his fight, it was less than 6 months later when Deana’s youngest son, Emory, was diagnosed with ALL- Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Needless to say, the wedding was on hold.
Last February, Q100 (99.7FM – one of Atlanta’s top radio station) and Bert’s Big Adventure (a non-profit organization started by Q100 morning show host, Bert Weiss, and his wife, Stacy) approached the Perfect Wedding Guide Atlanta Market Manager, Anne Cohen, with a unique opportunity: to throw a family in need a wedding. Last February, Q100 (99.7FM – Atlanta’s top radio station) and Bert’s Big Adventure (a non-profit organization started by Q100 morning show host, Bert Weiss, and his wife, Stacy) approached the Perfect Wedding Guide Atlanta Market Manager, Anne Cohen, with a unique opportunity: to throw a wedding for a family in need.
Bert’s Big Adventure, established in 2002, provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World for children between the ages of 5 and 12 with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families. Each February, before the families depart for their Walt Disney experience, The Bert Show hosts “The Big Send-Off” live on the air, and one-by-one, the show hosts reveal life-changing surprises for each family. When Bert’s Big Adventure told Atlanta Perfect Wedding Guide the story of Deana Warren and Scott Oxford, Anne knew she had no choice but to make this wedding happen.
In less than a week’s time, Anne had secured a full wedding for the Oxford/Warren family with the unbelievable help of her Perfect Wedding Guide wedding professionals. Live on the air, she let Deana and Scott know that the following professionals were going to make their wedding dreams come true.
On November 10, 2013, Deana and Scott were married at The Georgian Terrace – in the very room where they held the premier gala for Gone With The Wind! Emory and Scott are both still fighting, and they are currently winning their fights! Atlanta Perfect Wedding Guide could not be more proud or excited to have participated in this event, and are forever grateful to the amazing wedding professionals they work with who donated their time, services and selves to bring this family a day to hold dear in their memories and a day to celebrate the good things in their lives.
